David J. Gordon is a former Oneida County Legislator, a Committed Community Volunteer, A Small Business Owner and now a Proud Candidate for Oneida County Executive.
Dave is a resident of Utica, NY and was born April 19, 1983, the son of the late Kevin Gordon and Jacquelin Asaro Gordon. His father was a hardworking mechanic of 30 plus years for the Utica Transit Authority, while his mother was previously employed at General Electric in Utica before closing their doors as Lockheed Martin in the 90’s. His mother is currently a nurse with the State of New York.
Gordon is a graduate of New Hartford High School and attended Mohawk Valley Community College with a major in Public Policy. He received his insurance certification from Bryant and Stratton College in Syracuse. Gordon has a career in sales and marketing and is currently the President and CEO of Partners Trust Insurance Agency Inc. in Utica.
Gordon is an active volunteer in numerous community organizations. He is a member of the Rome Lions Club, Co-Chair and a founding member of the Francis J. Bellamy Community Awards Committee. He was most recently the Chairman for the Healthy for Good Expo for the America's Greatest Heart Run and Walk and continues many years of volunteering for the Stomp Out Cancer Telethon. For over 10 years he was a Team Captain for the Boilermaker Road Race in Utica, NY and was previously a volunteer with the American Red Cross of the Mohawk Valley and Compeer of the Mohawk Valley among others.
Gordon, a Republican and #1 ranked Conservative on the Board of Legislators, was elected to the Oneida County Legislature from New Hartford in 2011 and served from 2012 to 2013.
As a County Legislator he was a Member of the Government Operations Committee and the Health and Human Services Committee. Gordon known as a fiscal conservative and government reform proponent championed legislation for term limits and pushed to reduce the County Sales Tax.
Gordon lives in South Utica with his fiancee Deanna and their beautiful daughter Genevieve
